PRODUCTS

Reverse Osmosis (RO) & Nanofiltration (NF)

State-of-the-art polyamide composite RO membranes with robust membrane chemistry produce high-quality permeate and improved performance, and longer membrane life. Our NF technology, made with polyamide or polypiperazine membranes, offers varying degrees of multivalent and monovalent ion rejection to achieve specific desired water qualities.

Ultrafiltration (UF)

Toray’s PVDF membrane (nominal 0.01-micron meter pore size) is highly resistant to chlorine and strong acids, allowing for improved cleaning and optimization of filtration flux rates after cleaning. The hollow fiber UF modules effectively remove suspended solids, viruses, and bacteria and are certified for drinking water applications.

Membrane Bioreactor (MBR)

Toray’s PVDF membrane for flat sheet MBR’s has numerous pores with uniform sizes (nominal 0.08-micron meters) evenly distributed across the membrane surface. Toray’s MBR is an effective barrier against solids and bacteria to meet increasingly stringent water quality requirements and turn wastewater into a viable resource.

Specialty Separations

Toray manufactures membrane elements in sanitary design for reverse osmosis (RO), nanofiltration (NF), ultrafiltration (UF), and microfiltration (MF). Our membranes meet desired separation needs in dairy, food & beverage, pharmaceutical, industrial processes, and heat-sanitizable applications. Toray has a team of product specialists ready to develop custom-engineered solutions.

ROPUR RPI Antiscalant

ROPUR RPI® Antiscalants provide superior scale control, dispersing capabilities, and extensive compatibility with polyamide membranes and standard chemicals used for water treatment. A globally accepted solution to help optimize drinking water membrane systems, we support plant design engineers, OEMs, and end-users. ROPUR RPI® Antiscalants- Engineered for Precision.

CSM Commercial & Residential RO

CSM™ RO membranes are ideal for point-of-use and point-of-entry applications. Our membrane elements come in various sizes, feed pressure requirements, and flow rates to meet your production needs. Please inquire about our high-recovery membrane technology to add cost savings for your water treatment installation.

APPLICATIONS

Industrial Process

Toray’s RO, NF, UF, and MBR membrane technologies are used for various industrial processes to maintain continuous and reliable operations. Applications include:

Cooling tower makeup and blowdown water
Boiler feedwater
Condensate polisher
High purity or ultrapure water production
Ingredient water for food & beverage
RO systems requiring hot water sanitization

Water Reuse

The low-fouling properties of Toray membranes are ideal for treating wastewater to acceptable water reuse standards. Typical applications include:

Municipal reuse for agriculture and irrigation
Aquifer recharge for indirect potable reuse or seawater intrusion barriers
Direct potable reuse
Decentralized reuse systems for commercial buildings and sports arenas
High-recovery industrial wastewater treatment systems

Drinking Water

State-of-the-art cross-linked fully aromatic polyamide composite membranes produce high-quality permeate. Our robust membrane chemistry improves membrane performance and extends operating life. Toray’s membranes produces drinking water by treating brackish and seawater, water softening by nanofiltration, and installation in point-of-use and point-of-entry systems.

Specialty Applications

Toray manufactures membrane elements with varying molecular weight cut-off to extract proteins and sugars or recover valuable resources from wastes. Specialty applications include:

Dairy food processing
Food & beverage production
Dye recovery
Surface finishing and paint recovery
